Choir and stuff

For the past few months our whole family at home has been singing in the choir at church. Jeanette is the choir president. Debra and Eric each add to their sections, and I am at times the entire bass section. Today in church we sang "Nearer Dear Savior to Thee". We had been practicing off and on for the past month. Stake conference, trips out of town, holidays, and summer vacation have made it difficult to have meaningful practices. Devin Huggins, our choir director, has been struggling to find when we could actually perform and not completely embarrass ourselves.

We practiced this morning before church. Devin decided to seek permission to sing today. We sang. I did not have anybody come tell me that we did a good job. I don't know if that is because they have come to expect a good job, or if it was not really a good job. The ending was a bit .... different.

Eric was called up on the spur of the moment to bear his testimony. He explained that he would like to bear his testimony, and that he was actually going to do it. (pun intended (by him)) People commented to us on what a fine young man Eric is. It is nice to hear such things from others.

Eric was sustained to be ordained to the office of Teacher. He was also released as Deacon Quorum President.

Debra spent her last Sunday here before heading off to the great yonder of Idaho.

  2. I had one person comment that we did well. If they only knew... lol. I have to concur with the other commentors on Eric. He is a fine young man. I will miss Debra. She adds spunk to my Sabbath Day. I can't wait for the next 2 months to go by so she can come back.

  3. It's good to hear about your experiences in your ward. Things will be different in your home with just Eric. Time passes so fast that it won't be long until you are empty nesters. Eric, I am very proud of you and your accomplishments. I can hardly wait to see you. grandma

  4. It is getting more difficult with time to be excited about some of my assignments. Maybe I need a two week vacation.

  5. I am looking forward to a vacation too. Hopefully I will have full use of my hand and a better attitude when I return to work.
