I don't know

It has been many years now that when the children hear the question: "What do you want to eat?", they no longer answer "I don't know". I have been known to prepare that very thing, "I don't know", in response to their response.

This dish, "I don't know", has taken on many incarnations, some good, some not so good. The contents of the refrigerator are fair game in the development of I don't know. If the particular incarnation of I don't know is particularly well received by the masses then it is renamed with something more palatable than I don't know. Egg pie was created in this very fashion.

There have been sometimes that even I, Larry, would not enjoy the consumption of the conglomeration of constituents chosen from among the remnants of previously prepared foods.

Egg pie was the only one that I could think of that has been prepared multiple times. It consisted of white flour tortillas lining a deep glass bowl then covered in a layer of american cheese and then coated with a layer of partially cooked scrambled eggs, some ham, a tortilla, some cheese, eggs, some ham, a tortilla, some cheese, some eggs, some ham, cheese and a tortilla. Place the concoction in the microwave oven for sufficient time to make the cheese soft and the eggs hard. Consume the egg pie coated with salsa.

What is for supper? I don't know?

  4. Our "I don't know meals are called "Left overs banquet". We get our little white fold-up table & set it up in the living room and take every thing left over in the fridge, heat it, & put it on the table. Then put two fake candles that have batteries in them and you turn the light bulb to turn them on. Makes for a pretty table, kinda.
The I DON'T KNOW egg dish sounded pretty good to me.

We had left over veggies, potatoe pearls, chicken and salad. The candles made it taste better, I guess. Best of all, it did not spoil.

  5. "I don't know" is much more special than just leftovers, because the leftovers are reconfigured into something new. Possibly a new masterpiece or even possibly something for the dumpster.
