A new year

It is now 2008. Time to write the new year on checks and documents. I will probably have to scratch out a few before I get it right.

Leslie has an ailment. She is suffereing from a slight case of pneumonia. Julie says that she is breathing easier today.

We worked in the yard today some. When we moved in here 5 years ago it was contingent on having the drains from the back yard installed. They were not, but we were given cash in lieu of the drains being installed. We planned to do it for a long time. Today we finally cut off the ends of the drain pipes that were buried 3 months ago. We still need to finish a few details, but for the most part it is done. Only 5 years late.

We had planned on putting in a patio in the back yard and bought 9 yards of sand/gravel mix. We have abandoned that plan and are now using the mix to level some of the back yard. It is more than half gone. I will need the hot tub tonight.

We slept in today until about 9. I was on the exercise bicycle riding along getting excited to watch a Spagetti Western when the power went out. We kept warm and could still cook because of our propane tank in the back yard, our propane fireplace, and our propane BBQ grill in the back.

Tomorrow I must go back to work.

We missed having home evening yesterday, but plan on having it today.

The Wii has gotten a workout the past couple days.

We have recovered mostly from our campout last week.

Maybe this will be a much better year than 2007. I hope this is a better year than 2007.

  1. I envy your propane backup. We are 100% electric here in Lorena.
It's great that you're getting your big projects out of the way. We got a free apple tree from our life insurance company and I finally planted it today. We've had it over a week. Hope I didn't wait too long. Feels good to check things off your 'to-do' list! Happy New Year!

  2. We were excited to have the propane too. It is nice to have a fire in the fireplace sometimes. It is cheaper than electricity.

Please feel free to comment. Be nice.
