The last train ride (recently)

In Antonito I made quick friends with the crew of the train, in case we might need something en route.

Eric checked out the entrance to the engine.

All ABOARD!

And then we were on our way. From the flatland and chicos and sage to the foothills, and beyond.

We have all heard about the light at the end of the tunnel.

Here it is ....====>

Even when we were not in the tunnel, things were not always that clear.

Half way through the trip we stopped at Osier and had lunch.

OH MY! Here we go again.

Sisters

Doris, Hazel, and Ruth are sisters. We had the chance to visit each of them for a short spell. The last are first, and the first are last.

Here is a shot of Doris. This just shows how happy she was to see me.

Ruth had that very same emotion. Larry? Is that you Larry?

And when we were going to leave she said, "Please don't leave!"

I had to throw in this photo of a photo just for fun.

It was nice to visit with Hazel for a few minutes.

Jenine was kind enough to allow us to park our little trailer in her yard. Jenine is Hazel's daughter.

Maybe more later.

It is a small world

On our trip up north to visit Kent and Betty we took a day trip down to visit the art gallery of Kent's landlord. I was impressed with some of his work. This reminded me of somebody I know.

And another.

The figures in Magic Town were small. They were probably about 3 to 5 inches high. The other things, the buildings, and streets were scaled accordingly.

There was a giant among them.

The last Hope Chest

Several years ago for Christmas I bought some plywood and other supplies to make hope chests for the the three girls. Debra received hers first. Julie received hers last year. This year I finally finished the last chest for Anita.

Here Jeanette is sitting in the shop next to the parts that were cut and near ready to assemble.

A closer view.

And the assembly.

Then for the finish; Danish Oil and Satin Wax.

Unfortunately I did not get a photograph of the finished product before we delivered it. Maybe Anita can provide a photograph back.
