I have been in a reflective mode for several days now. I think it is being caused in part by my very, very lazy summer and an aproaching year older day.

Back to doing. What is my list of doings for? Is it to keep busy with, spend $, enjoy life, develop talents, help others? Some doing is necessary to keep alive the people I love, but I'm not sure about all of the other doing anymore.

As I thought I discovered that some doings are the right thing at the wrong time. For instance. As the president of a brand new children's organization one of my children asked if I had time to do such and such or if I was busy with Primary? That memory now cuts me to the core especially since I was busy "doing" for the organization and it's 100 children instead of "doing" for that sweet, precious, final addition to our family.

So how often have I done this with the rest of my relationships? And is that why some of them are not holding fast to what I thought I had taught them?

After this life what will there be to do? What will I think about then? Will the relationships with the people I care about the most be intact?

So many questions. Mostly rethorical here. The answers are going to be different for each of us. They need to be answered in our hearts I suppose.

So with all of the "doing " of life what should I be doing?

  1. Jeanette, I have asked myself the same questions at different times. There is only one answer to most of our questions. Wait, Wait, Love Love. Love is the most powerful thing that we have to protect our loved ones. Time takes care of many things. President Hinkley said "do what is right and things will work out. I believe that. Keep up the good work.

  2. Sometimes doing is the best route. It is better to do something with good will than it is to do nothing with the same will.

For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also.
