The future was today.

Larry and I have been married for 28 1/2 years. Six of our children are presently living away from home. This week Eric is at Boy Scout camp. Therefore family home evening (FHE) was just the two of us. It looks we have almost come full circle.

We have been having FHE for so long we can't remember when we officially started. I only remember one lesson we had before our first child was born 9 1/2 months after our marriage. Tonight was my turn to conduct. Larry was in charge of the lesson and the music. Just the two of us singing is interesting. It was nice to feel the spirit coming from each other.

We had more of a discussion than a lesson. It was good to talk.

We love each other and are glad we are together and have been sealed to each other forever. That knowledge and commitment sure makes life more bearable and enjoyable.

We kept the tradition of having an activity like we have had all of the other years. We played Racko. Larry won. Then we ended with refreshments just like all the other years. We enjoyed sharing a bowl of sliced fresh strawberries and cream.

It was a great evening together. I think that is the point.

It will be great to have Eric home for next week and for at least four more years.

Hey kids, stop by anytime for FHE. We would love to have you here again. Maybe we'll play tag.

  2. What a wonderful example you set for us! It makes me want to do better at FHE than we have.

  3. I love you guys Mom and Dad. FHE was a little different for me too this week. Our "family" went to the Idaho Falls Visitor's Center, and then got the hugest icecream I've ever seen. The guy at the temple picked on me for being from Texas. He was a funny little old man. Next month, There'll be four at Sierra Slope again.

  6. For those that do not know what FFF represents, it is Forced Family Fun. For the rest of you it means Forced Family Fun.
