New York = Amazing

Amazing! Spectacular! Stunning! Busy! Spiritual! That's how I will begin to describe my recent trip to New York City, NY. I went as a chaperone to NY with the Midway High School Meistersingers Choir. There were 88 students and chaperones. We stayed at the Sheraton Manhattan Hotel from March 6th through the 10th.
Amazing : because of the traffic that shouldn't work but does, because the first day you spend looking up at the very tall buildings, and because there are so so very very many many people.
Spectacular : because there is no other way to describe going to a Broadway show like Wicked.
Stunning : because the costumes in my second ever Broadway show The Lion King were stunning. People playing aminals with fabulous costumes. Stunning.
Busy : because we went from morn til night (6am to nidnight) everyday, and there are people everywhere all the time, and there is so much to see and do you would have to be busy to get it all in.
Spiritual : because I got to see the LDS Temple and attend a Sacrament Meeting in the same building. It was an spiritual need fulfilled.
I may need to go back. Stay tuned for more details. I'll try to tell about each experience.

  1. If you liked it that much, I hope you get to go back. I'm surprised you go to go to church. I've heard a little about the NY Temple--pretty unique, huh? Glad you're back.

  2. I'm not so sure that I like that bold need in there. I missed you and I am not so inclined to want to travel to New York. Maybe I would like it just fine, but if it is anything like the disappointment that I felt when we visited the Alamo then it would be a big letdown.

I am glad you are back Jeanette. I missed you.

  3. I've never been to New York, but I felt similar feelings when I went to Chicago for training with my job. I really enjoyed the museums and the restaurants. I gained a lot of weight while I was in Chicago. The only thing that was hard for me about the big city was the temperament of the natives.

  5. Jeanette, I enjoyed your telling of your experiences in New York. When we were there on our tour, I felt some of the same things that you expressed about the big buildings and the many people. I had the blessing of going to the temple there. It was so beautiful inside. It was strange to walk off the street into the temple. There were some flowers in front. I was pleased to read of your experiences there. I look forward to hearing more.
