This is not the first time I have been published, but the second. The first time around it was my Thesis for my MS in CE.
A while back I thought that it would be nice to have a hard copy of the BLOG content. I did a cursory search and decided that I would use LULU.com to create a book with the BLOG contents. It was easier than I thought. I had to get the pages into a publishable format. I chose to use OpenOffice and just paste the contents in the order I wanted from the BLOG and then do some minor formatting for page breaks, but no serious resizing or any of that. I printed the document to a PDF file and submitted it to LULU, and viola', I am published again.

I am glad for your effort. Tell me about it and how to buy it.
ReplyDeleteI really want to do this with our blog. Do you have any pointers? I'm not very computer literate. Would you help me, if I got stuck while trying to figure this out?
ReplyDeleteIt is not too complicated to publish your BLOG. I am sure that there are some helper tools available, but I did ours by simply viewing the page in interest, copying the content that I wanted, and pasting it into OpenOffice Writer. When the entire content to be published was in the word processor then I wrote it out to a PDF format file.
ReplyDeleteI opened an account at LuLu.com, where I was able to upload PDF file. The only thing left was to design a cover. LuLu had some various cover graphics, of which I chose one, and provided some text for a title. The back cover can contain text provided through the self publish tool.
There are options for publishing, of which I chose to have an 8-1/2 X 11 format , black and white, and without a ISBN number. Our BLOG was about 450 pages and cost about $30 to bind and publish it. Shipping was extra ~$40 total.
